GENERATION FOMO - Tuesday 15th July 2025 We are very excited to announce aFREE and special evening performance of Generation FOMO, a new verbatim play by Isabelle Defaut and Portrait Theatre at The Canterbury Academy on Tuesday, 15th July 2025. The play explores the experiences of young people using social media and the impact on their mental health. The play and was created from interviews conducted by Isabelle Defaut with primary and secondary school pupils as well as students from the University of Kent, about their relationships with their smartphones and social media and the impact this has on their day-to-day lives. Any parent and young person who has worried about the effect of unrestricted smartphone use and social media should see this play and join the discussion afterwards to help explore what should be done. The play will be followed by a panel discussion of teachers, students and experts, with the opportunity for questions from the audience. There is some challenging content, so there is an age restriction of 12+. Otherwise, all Academy students and parents are welcome. Demand is likely to be high for this performance.
