Glam 45

Glam 45
Saturday, 14th February. Glam Rock was born out of the ashes of the 60s hippy and flower power scene with leading figures like Marc Bolan and David Bowie showing the way. These were closely followed by the likes of The Sweet, Roxy Music, Suzi Quatro, Alvin Stardust, Mott the Hoople, Gary Glitter, The Glitter Band plus many more bands and "one off" hits. Even the more Rock 'n' Roll based acts like Mud, Showaddywaddy and Racey were lumped in with Glam Rock though they wore slightly more 50s type clothes. Slade even became part of the genre moving from their skinhead and boots look into Glam Rock style clothes with Dave Hill the guitarist taking a prominent role in wearing increasingly more flamboyant and Glittery Clothes. It is from this background of influences that Glam45 comes. They try to give as authentic a 70s Glam Rock Experience as possible, with renditions of classic 70s Glam and Glitter tunes and with original 70s Glam Rock outfits and modern reproductions of classic 70s Glam Rock styles.Tickets 20Doors Open: 7pmOn stage: 8pm Limited seating - mostly standing.
