Great White Lies

Fifty years ago to the day (depending on when you're reading this) the world's most famous shark 'attacked' and 'killed' several 'beach goers' during a 'series' of 'shark' 'attacks'. You all know the story (if not, give 'Jaws' a quick google). Ever since sharks have suffered some of the worst labels known to man: 'monsters', 'man eaters', 'fish'. But today we right that wrong.
Join an incredibly talented group of shark enthusiasts, who also just so happen to be actors, as they uncover what happened on Amity Island that fateful summer. Was The Shark really behind all those severed limbs? Was Ellen Brody in love with The Shark all along? Why are the pages of The Giant Pop-up Book Of Sharks stuck together on page 3? Find out this summer.
Great White Lies is a new(ish) comedy written by Leo Thomas and directed by Thomas and Gude Yue. After a sell-out one-night-only performance in a dimly-lit lecture hall at York University in 2022, Great White Lies makes its grand return to the stage with an (almost) all-new cast and (almost) all-new script. In an increasingly troubled world, uni besties Thomas and Yues show is designed bring its audience an hour of unbridled laughs and, hopefully, change an opinion or two about sharks.
Their past credits feature several sell-out Edinburgh Fringe shows, with Thomas serving as head producer and writer for sketch comedy troupe The Dead Ducks five-star show Abominations of Comedy in 2022 (reminiscent of Monty Python Broadway World).
