About the Workshop Leader
Dennis Massar is a deaf contemporary dancer, maker, and teacher who graduated from Art EZ University of the Arts in Arnhem, part of ConCuerpos Dance company. In his work, he explores how sign language and contemporary dance merge into a single fluid movement language. Through this, he creates performances with an entirely new language, making the dance world accessible to both deaf and hearing audiences.
Karen Lozano Bolivar is a Colombian dancer, sign language interpreter, and educator.
As a member of ConCuerpos, her work explores the intersection of dance, sign language, and accessibility, creating opportunities for d/Deaf and hearing people to connect through movement and shared experiences.
About the Workshop
Join ConCuerpos dance company for a workshop sharing their latest artistic research on universal accessibility. Inspired by their piece FOCARIS, they will explore our inner fire through the connection between dance and different sign languages. Discovering how movement and embodied expression can spark new, accessible forms of creative expression.
