Hobson's Choice by Harold Brighouse

'Hobson's Choice' is set in 1880's Salford where widowed boot shop owner, Henry Horatio Hobson, is struggling to handle his three grown up daughters. Two are seeking husbands and Maggie, the eldest, holds her own ambitions which involve Hobson's unappreciated bootmaker Willie Mossop.
