Iago Banet The Galician King of Acoustic Guitar together with Xenia Porteous - Friday 24th October 2025 at 7.30pm Since 2018,Iago Banet has been building an impressive career as a solo fingerstyle acoustic guitarist, displaying his exceptional abilities and receiving rave reviews along the way. He launched his third album, TRES, in 2023, with a tour which has included sell-out shows and sensational reception from audiences across the UK. He has showcased his immense talent at many festivals displaying new levels of skill, complexity and versatility, whilst fusing styles, ranging from gypsy jazz, blues, Americana, country and Dixieland, to swing, pop and folk. Described as a master of the guitar - as 'nothing short of phenomenal' in a recent review, and as a highly recommended artist, Iago creates stories without words, enthralling audiences as he does so. Iagos technique and approach to performance have captivated crowds across the UK and Spain. Xenia Porteous plays everything from classical to gypsy jazz and ELO hits and loves nothing better than the freedom to improvise and bring an audience through a range of emotions. Her career to date has included several TV and radio credits, and shes performed in some great venues like the O2 in London and the Royal Albert Hall along the way sharing a stage with gypsy jazz masters such as Paulus Schaefer, Christiaan van Hemert and Remi Haris and she recently recorded an album with Nicky Campbell. Although Xenia grew up with the violin she didnt study at music college, however in a kind of pre-mid-life crisis she resigned from a lucrative finance job and escaped to South America for 6 months where she realised that music was too important not to be the focus of her life. She set up as Xenia Violin on her return and has been performing and recording ever since. When shes not playing she enjoys dancing Argentine Tango and raising her family.
