The Breaking Wave is Ian Marchant's first novel in twenty-five years. Set in Ian's East Sussex hometown Newhaven, and in and around Bishop's Castle, it features sex, drugs, village halls, love, death, dogs, breathing exercises, the 2024 Oscar ceremony, free jazz, thrash pop and Desert Island Discs. Ian will be reading (and singing) and discussing why plot and jeopardy have no place in a naturalistic novel. Books and CD's will be available. This event is a fundraiser for MBA.
