Have you always wanted to write about your own life or someone else’s? Or are you already having a go and need some guidance? If so, then this is the course for you! What will you learn on this course? This six-week course is designed to build your confidence and help improve your creative writing skills, by drawing inspiration from life experiences, stories, and published text. The course will bring fun into creative writing and provide techniques for how to start a story and how to build, develop and improve your writing skills. You will review published texts in the life writing genre and, feeling inspired, will start creating your own writing. The course will use memory exercises and published texts to inspire writing, including group work and group discussions. The tutor’s approach is focused on building your confidence and finding enjoyment and pleasure in writing, embracing the drafting process. By the end of the course, you will acquire the skills to jump-start your own creative writing. Who is this course for? This course is suitable for adults aged 18+ years. It is open to beginners and no previous experience in creative writing is required as full instruction with be given. The course is also suitable for anyone who lacks confidence in their writing or hasn’t written creatively for a while. At the heart of MAC is a focus on accessibility and inclusion. Please contact us to discuss your specific access needs. The room is wheelchair accessible. A support worker or carer may assist; carers must book a complimentary ticket if attending to provide support. Do you need to bring anything?
