However, on her first trip to Southampton aged seven she caught endemic typhus and nearly did not survive to give us her thoughts on the unmeaning luxuries of Bath and the stinking fish of Southampton. Join Dr Cheryl Butler for this special tour and discover Jane’s experience of walking the streets of Southampton as a seventeen year-old teenager and a burgeoning novelist and find out how Southampton may have inspired the plots and characters in her novels.
