Jennifer Reid Singaround

Jennifer Reid Singaround
Join us for a truly special evening in the beautiful Samuel Worth Chapel with Jennifer Reid - performer, folklorist, and renowned broadside balladress - as she shares new songs, old traditions, and stories from across the globe. Jennifer will begin the night with a short solo set, featuring material from her new album and recent research into the hidden histories of working-class song. Expect powerful unaccompanied vocals, radical tales, and her signature sharp wit - part concert, part storytelling. After her set, the evening opens into an informal singaround, led by Jennifer and shaped by the audience. Shell share songs she learned from folk singers in Aotearoa (New Zealand) during her recent travels, and invites you to bring a song of your own - whether traditional, personal, or simply one you love to sing. All voices are welcome, from seasoned singers to enthusiastic listeners. Lets fill the Chapel with music and make the most of its glorious acoustic for a night of shared tradition and community spirit.
