As part of Nether Edge Festival... JuJu at The Chapel, with Captain Fitzroy and JuJu Club DJs Sheffields JuJu Club is very excited to put on its first gig in the Samuel Worth Chapel. The JuJu Club started in 1988, with the mission of promoting live global music bands and djs, with the emphasis on having a dance and a welcome and friendly, good time. Since then we have put on hundreds of successful events in Sheffield. Our band, Captain Fitzroy is led by Ricardo Lourinho, whos previous band Hot Diamond Ace, established a huge reputation for the professionalism of its mainly Afrobeat music fare. This time we have a five-piece band which justifies its reckless genre changes with relentless energy; weaving an intricate rhythmic web, with potent bass lines, biting lyricism, angular guitar lines and otherwordly jazz warbling on the keyboard. The total effect a delicious soundbath of extraterrestrial delights. Our DJs on the night Papa Al, Wahala and Izza Dancer will be playing the best of global beats and dancing will be definitely encouraged.
