This talk, by renowned journalist and war correspondentKate Adie CBE, is part of Axminster Heritage Centres commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The event will begin at 7:00pm with songs from the 1940s by local vocalist, Jay Hobday followed byWomen on the Home Front - the Second World War with Kate Adie CBE. Kate Adie grew up in Sunderland, and joinedBBC Radio Durham after leaving Newcastle University, where she read Swedish. As BBC Chief News Correspondent she covered major stories, including both Gulf Wars, the SAS storming of the Iranian Embassy and the Tiananmen Square Massacre in Beijing. She now lives in Dorset and presents Radio 4s"From Our Own Correspondent".
