Leeds Jazz Fest x Heart Fest'25: Elliott Galvin and Nika Ticiatti

Headingley Development Trust in Partnership with HEART Fest '25 and Leeds Jazz Festival are proud to present Elliot Galvin performing and special one off solo piano performance at our very own HEART Centre in Headingley.
An artist with little need for introductions, Elliot Galvin is a long-time trailblazer in the UK jazz firmament with five solo albums that have seen him top album of the year lists at the likes of Downbeat and Jazzwise, as well as being a member of the Mercury nominated Dinosaur, and collaborating with Shabaka Hutchings, Emma-Jean Thackray, Norma Winstone, Marius Neset and Mark Lockheart.
Galvin has also earned a fierce reputation as a borderless improvisor having released records with the likes of Mark Sanders and his now labelmate Binker Golding. In 2020 he released an entirely improvised piano album and was named The Guardians album of the month and BBC Music magazines album of the year. His latest album 'The Ruin' features Shabaka Hutchings, Sebastian Rochford, Ruth Goller and the Ligeti Quartet, released on Gearbox Records, and was named editors pick in Downbeat Magazine.
Outside of this Galvin is a composer Commissioned by the Sinfonietta, Ligeti Quartet and an audio artist with works exhibited at the likes of the Turner Contemporary Gallery, and more.
Support comes from local up and coming pianist and composer Nika Ticciati. Ticciati has a wide ranging musical portfolio with collaborative albums featuring established titans such as Matthew Bourne, as well as many self directed projects on the go at any one time.
Both acts will play an improvised solo piano set on our beautiful grand piano. Doors are at 3pm on Sunday 25th May and tickets can be found on the HEART website or scanning a QR code on one of our posters.
