Leeds Zine Lates! Chart Your Cycle Turns 20: A Celebration of Zine Activism with Chella Quint OBE

Join us at Leeds Zine Library for a joyful and zine-filled celebration with author, activist, and Sheffield Zine Fest co-founder, Chella Quint OBE, marking 20 years since she first self-published Chart Your Cycle and Adventures in Menstruating #1.
Kicking off with an informal In Conversation and Q&A, well dive into the journey from photocopied period charts to international campaigns, via Chellas cult zines, Ladiyfest shows, grassroots outreach, craftivism, and youth-led education resources, to the now-global Period Positive movement. Find out how her ad-busting fanzines inspired her 5-star Edinburgh Fringe show, led to her work on an International Emmy-nominated childrens show, and how her popular books Be Period Positive and Own Your Period became best sellers in Germany and banned in the US!
Expect readings, reflections, and behind-the-scenes stories from the early days of her DIY menstrual activism to todays push for queer, inclusive, and Period Positive menstrual literacy education through the community-based projects Period Positive Schools and Places Award, pledge, and youth-led curriculum guide.
Stick around for zine-making, badge-making, music, and refreshments. Plus, the chance to get involved with and help co-design next years Zine Fair poster at the City Museum with Leeds Museums curator Sapphia
Chellas books will be available for purchase (and signing) on the night: Own Your Period, Be Period Positive, and maybe even an exclusive Chart Your Cycle anniversary zine.
Open to menstruators and non-menstruators of all genders aged 16 and up.
Freedom4Girls will also be here to talk about their amazing work freedom4girls.co.uk and how you can get involved making reusables for yourself and others.
Come celebrate, create, and chart the next chapter!
