Lincoln Blues, Rhythm and Rock Festival

Lincoln Blues, Rhythm and Rock Festival
Bringing together some of the sounds from the heyday of music in the UK and a mix of contemporary artists; with The Blockheads headlining and five other very different impressive acts stepping on stage, this will undoubtedly be another great festival and a musical experience to savour! Starting out as the band behind Ian Dury, the Blockheads are a legendary outfit that has grown in stature from the early days of the Stiff tour in 1977, right up to the present day. Backing up Ian Dury’s poetic lyrics, this is the band that brought you ‘Hit Me with your Rhythm Stick’, ‘What A Waste’, ‘Reasons to be Cheerful (Part 3)’, and ‘Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll’, among many others Rarely off the road since the demise of Ian Dury in 2000, but now with Derek Hussey fronting the band, the Blockheads are still one of the most underrated British bands of all time, with a legion of fans of all ages. The Blockheads are fronted by Derek ‘The Draw’ Hussey, and Chaz Jankel, Norman Watt-Roy, John Turnbull and Mick Gallagher still remain from the original band. The current line-up is augmented by John Roberts on drums and a rolling line up of saxophonists that includes Gilad Atzmon, Terry Edwards and Dave Lewis. Stevie Nimmo Trio – enjoying making music now as much as at any point throughout his 20 years in the business and relishes the prospect of continuing to tour and playing live! Ken Pustelnik’s Groundhogs – historically speaking, Groundhogs in their current form have been in existence for but a moment in time, yet their back story is extensive and varied! Elles Bailey - dubbed a 'Blues Princess', this young Bristolian cuts right against the grain in so many ways, that’s probably why she’s such a rapidly rising star in the British music scene! Thr3e – with a style firmly rooted in 60s/70s British blues but with influences ranging widely from the old blues originals to more recent US and British rock and blues! Snake Oil Band - Snake Oil provides the elixir to cure sadness, madness and badness and guaranteed to eradicate all hallucinations, confabulations and expectorations! With this calibre of artist stepping on stage, festival goers will see top class live performances and hear a range of incredible sounds with sets that incorporate a creative mix of Blues, Rock and R & B, with a sprinkling of other genres in the mix! No need to worry about searching for food and drinks on the day either, there will be a range of alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, real ales available and a varied menu that should meet everyone's taste!
