In February’s Little Seedlings workshop, children will explore the exciting world of composting.

In February’s Little Seedlings workshop, children will explore the exciting world of composting. They’ll discover how food scraps and garden waste can be turned into healthy soil and learn what can and can’t be composted. They’ll meet helpful compost creatures, discover creative ways to compost, and find out why composting is so important for plants, wildlife, and the planet. The workshop also includes a fun sorting challenge and a hands-on activity where children will create their own mini compost bottle to take home.
This workshop will cover:
What composting is and the compost life cycle
What can and can’t be composted
Green vs brown waste – what’s the difference?
Mini activity – Team Green vs Team Brown sorting challenge
Why composting matters
Starting a compost heap at home
Creative composting for small spaces
Creative ways to use compost
Workshop activity – Create a compost bottle
Please note:
Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian
The club runs on the first Sunday of every month. Times vary per store. Please click on your perferred store below for available options.
Where stores are running multiple sessions it is the same workshop delivered at each one
Parents or guardians wishing to order hot drinks for the session in advance can do so during the booking process
Dates and times for our Little Seedlings Clubs vary by store and not all stores are able to participate
Advance booking is required with spaces booked quickly – please book early to avoid disappointment
