Local and Community History Month. Liverpool: Seven Stories from Seven Hills

Ken Pye's curious tour of Liverpool's, literal, 'High Spots', the Seven Hills of Liverpool.
Like ancient Rome, Liverpool is built on seven hills. Discover which these are in this talk, and also hear special and remarkable tales from the history of each of them. These include Pongo the Man Monkey and The Sod House; Prince Rupert and The Lost Treasure of Liverpool; the ancient community of thugs known as Willaloo; the incompetent captain who became a multi-millionaire; Wavertree Lock-Up; the Lepers of Ancient Childwall Hill; and the barbarian defenders of Camp Hill in Woolton. These are great stories from the high hills of a great city.
Non-alcoholic refreshments will be served. The Curious Cat bookshop will be offering books for sale by Ken Pye at this event.
