Award-winning jazz vocalist Louise Balkwill brings her acclaimed new album Chatterbox to Toulouse Lautrec Jazz Club in a special quintet performance celebrating its release.

A vibrant blend of classic swing, original compositions and masterfully crafted vocalese, Chatterbox captures Louise at her most playful and expressive. The album has already garnered national press attention, with UK Jazz News describing it as “Unashamedly melodic, swinging and good-humoured” and Bebop Spoken Here calling it “A top contender for Vocal Album of the Year.” The project has also featured in Jazzwise, further cementing her growing profile.

At the heart of this music is storytelling. From reimagined standards to original lyrics set to iconic instrumental solos, Louise’s vocalese work brings a fresh narrative voice to the golden age of jazz. Romantic, cinematic and rhythmically alive, the performance moves effortlessly between intimate late-night ballads and effervescent up-tempo swing.

For this performance, Louise is joined by her full quintet: Jonathan Bauer (trumpet), Rob Barron (piano), Theo Malka-Wishart (double bass) and Joshua Walker-Martin (drums).
