Love Music Rate Racism Presents... Teose, Telekinephews, Slowlight & PVC
Ever wondered what a gig would be like if it was the producers, promoters and sound engineers up on the stage entertaining you? Well, next month you’ve got a chance to see a line up of acts – each headliners of their own genre – who are behind some of Glasgow’s best recorded and live music.

This all BBC-Introducing accredited line up is joining us for our next party with a purpose; another rapturous roar to promote anti-fascism and resistance to racism on our doorsteps. We work with many of the best break-through artists to spread the message of neighbourly love -- these events are about spreading the vibes, not the hate. And this is a gig with four well-established alternative acts who’ve built a name for themselves with unwavering passion for studio recording and live sound.

Love Music Hate Racism Presents...

~~PVC~~
Freshly back from their London Headliner in Camden, Glasgow-based Indie Pop powerhouses PVC bring an intensely catchy, surfy brand of Indie Pop featuring fully harmonised vocals to give The Beach Boys a dip overboard. Blending post-punk urgency with sharp rock hooks, their witty lyricism and magnetic stage presence have gained them a loyal local following.
Managed by Scottish Music Collective, known for pulling through some of Glasgow’s biggest fresh acts such as Martha and The Mondays, Soapbox and San Jose. SMC are founders of the infamous House Guest Fest, making PVC the very cream of the crop in the Glasgow Indie scene. Check out LMHR’s favourite record “Lucky Kennels” by PVC. Mood immediately improved.
FFO: Japanese Breakfast, Bombay Bicycle Club, Beach Boys.

~~Slowlight~~
With a career spanning over a decade, their friendship and freedom of the band transfers into their music and is a testament to their longevity. This sincerely exciting post-emo alternative rock quartet is waiting for those who had their heart broken at the turn of the millenium. Guitars that twinkle and fizzle in harmony, with compositions that pull each track through like midnight drive down a rainy motorway. Featuring unwaveringly passionate vocals by Beth Black, a driving force behind Girls Rock Glasgow and Glasgow’s Alt scene bringing in acts from all over the UK and afar.
Slowlight are a supergroup of members spanning some of Glasgow’s best alternative, punk and post-hardcore acts including Veto, Flinch and Trapped in Kansas. A song we can’t get enough of comes from Slowlight’s freshly dropped new EP; hear “Looks Like Manflesh is Back on The Menu Boys!” by Slowlight ASAP. Close your eyes and let it go.
FFO, Little Big League, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters.

~~Telekinephews~~

Well-deserved moments of twinkly bliss are cut with joyous release and fast, fast, fast Glaswegian Punk. A deeper look into Telekinephews music reveals well-considered harmony and composition for some; a sweat-inducing, unchained noise for others. Their choppy, high energy sound is crammed with rapid-fire vocal hooks and technical mastery. Messages of unity, self-betterment and tonic wine -- sure to be loved by fans of early 2000’s Alternative Music.
Staltwart DIY events enthusiasts, known for their self-deployed microfestivals, immersive art-laden shows and presence supporting the Glasgow Music Scene. Catch them this summer booking and performing at the Bandstand at Eden Festival.
FFO, Algernon Cadwallader, Bad Nerves, Ramones.

~~Teose~~

Teose are one of Glasgow’s most adored Dream Pop outfits with an incredible back catalogue of self-produced, radio-quality and ubiquitously addictive Indie anthems. Uniquely attentive songwriting with unapologetically cool delivery, surrounding themes of self-reflection, introvert and relatable struggles in love. Since forming in 2019, they’ve built a sound that balances humour and heartache, pairing prominent basslines with fuzzy guitars.
From the mind of prolific recording and live-sound engineers Melissa Brisbane, a familiar face behind the sounddesk at the city's most notorious venues. LMHR’s recommendation is a difficult choice, but our way in was “Part II” by Teose. Welcome to your new favourite obsession.
FFO; Pip Blom, Alanis Morisette.
