LTB 25: The Truth About Trees (work in progress)

When Alfie’s Grandpa reveals that paper, if made correctly, can tell the story of the tree it came from, Alfie isn’t sure whether to believe him. Once he starts to listen closely, Alfie realises that he is the only one listening. He must spring into action to save the trees from being chopped down.
Told using actors, puppets, shadows, and storytelling, The Truth About Trees is a heartwarming story about nature, stories, and standing up for what you believe in.
This play is still being developed. So like all things in nature, it needs some time and space to grow, some water to feed it and some light to shine on it before it can blossom. We’d love for you to see what we’ve been working on, and tell us the parts that you love as well as the parts you didn’t understand or think could be better.
The Truth About Trees has been developed with support from Creative Scotland and Aberdeen Arts Centre.

Apropos Theatre is an Edinburgh-based theatre company, focused on using theatricality to shine a light on overlooked stories. Their debut play, 50 Words, received 5-star reviews and was named one of the best duos at the Fringe, and one of the top six shows finishing in the first week (both The Scotsman). Terrence the T-Rex followed in 2022 and 2023, building on their technical and theatrical ambition. Apropos Theatre have toured work to London and Exeter, and are currently working with Creative Scotland and Aberdeen Arts Centre on their family work. Accessibility has always been a key part of what we do; our past two fringe shows have had BSL performances. We also host the DTF: Doing The Fringe podcast.
