Philip Higham, cello
Alasdair Beatson, piano

Two fantastic Scottish musicians conclude our Spring BBC Chopin survey. The cello sonata is a very late composition and is full of the romantic lyrical pathis which makes Chopin’s music so hauntingly addictive.

‘Philip Higham’s playing was stunningly virtuosic and expressive with fabulous tone from start to finish’ Edinburgh Music Review

‘Alasdair Beatson’s flawless technique also means that the listener can focus exclusively on the music’ The Strad
