Celebrated violinist Madeleine Mitchell founded the eclectic Red Violin festival with Yehudi Menuhin, staging highly successful previous festivals throughout Cardiff with wide national media coverage. She gave a recital in Clothworkers Centenary Concert Hall five years ago, prompting Michael Beverley (former Chair Opera North) and Nicholas Snowman (former CEO Southbank Centre) to encourage her to stage the festival throughout Leeds. Madeleine is joined by her regular musical partners, violinist Gordon MacKay and pianist Nigel Clayton.
