Mahler 6 Tewkesbury Abbey

Mahler 6 Tewkesbury Abbey
None of his works came as directly from his inmost heart as this. So said Mahlers wife Alma of her husbands Symphony No. 6, a score of such terrifying and ominous power that it came to spook even the composer himself. Across the symphonys four movements we hear Mahler grappling with his own demise clinging hopelessly to love, light and the beauty of life. The massed musicians of Gloucestershire Symphony Orchestra and Stroud Symphony Orchestra join forces in Tewkesbury Abbey to take on Mahlers gargantuan and grippingly intense work. Saturday June 21st 2025. Coach transport from Stroud direct to Abbey, 15 (subject to sufficient numbers) See separate Ticketsource link here [https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/stroud-symphony-orchestra/t-qjnvxqg].
