Mapping Histories, Naming Futures: A Collaborative Workshop on Climate Change, Trees, and Landscapes Workshop at The Sill with lead artist-researcher Jen Clarke and The Sills Nick Pepper. Join us for a collaborative, creative workshop that uses maps and place-naming to explore the impacts of climate change and shifting weather patterns on trees, woodlands, and historic landscapes. This 3-hour event offers participants the chance to engage with the land in new waysmapping ecological changes and reflecting on historical significance. Combining scientific and heritage research with art, this workshop invites participants to reimagine the environment through collaborative mapping and naming. The afternoon begins with a guided walk around The Sill, followed by collaborative, creative, map creation incorporating known, newly discovered, and imagined place names reflecting the regions evolving landscape.
