The pianist’s album takes inspiration from his friendships, forming a music of contrasts between introspection and intimate intensity. Marco Mezquida conceived Tornado (self-published, 2023) with, and for, two old and dear friends with whom he shares a long history of music, connection and experiences on the road. The result is music created from three very expressive and strong musical personalities, with many registers and differences, and space to express himself in visceral moments.
