Saturday 14th June: 10.00am Maureen Paton. Lunch not included but can be book separately. Maureen Paton is a freelance journalist specialising in arts, showbusiness and women's issues. She is the author of two works of non-fiction and is a former committee member and former newsletter editor of the campaigning organisation Women in Journalism. The Mystery at Rake Hall is her first novel and begins a superb new historical crime series set in post-war Oxford in which university don C.S. Lewis finds himself an unlikely detective solving a mystery surrounding a hostel for unmarried mothers. Maureen Patons own mother lived at the real-life Rake Hall in Oxford while pregnant with her. This personal story inspired Maureen to write the novel.
