Max Winter + Pearl2 + Couch Prints

Max Winter’s music seeks to traverse a breadth of styles - a world where freewheeling jazzwise drum workouts linger behind silk bass and glooming electronics, where compositional flurries of flute, cello, keys, and violin playfully exchange with restrained melodic ambience, where crystalline vocal melodies float above terminator slap bass sessions... it’s literally all going on...and all at the same time.
Pearl2 are a London-based electronic trio fusing hypnotic club energy with off-kilter pop. Fronted by Lola Stephen (Hank), whose airy vocals float over Dylan Jones’ lithe basslines and Tom Kellet’s (Moreish Idols) restless, textured electronics, their sound is raw, rhythmic, and intoxicating. Drawing inspiration from leftfield icons like Lena Platonos, Boards Of Canada, Prima Scream, and Saâda Bonaire, Pearl2 blur the lines between the cerebral and the physical.
Couch Prints is Jayanna Roberts and Brandon Tong. It is an experimental pop project formed in New York and best heard from the backseat. In their own private world, they blend midwestern emo with countrypolitan twang and launder it all through a cold synthetic electronica. Taking cues from influential electronica “bands” like Sweet Trip, Frou Frou, and The Knife, they seamlessly blend disparate worlds of popular music to create a sound more tied to affect than to genre, something that speaks to the schizophrenic nature of contemporary life. Throughout their music runs a through line - a reflection on the isolation core to the middle-American experience, and modern world more generally. A world where excess and self-destruction are the last remaining avenues of self realization and change the only constant.
