Cycling champion (and sometime stand-up comedian) Michael Hutchinson launches his latest book, ‘Further’, exploring the strange world of extreme endurance cyclists. What makes someone want to ride from San Diego to Atlantic City with no more than a few 15-minute naps along the way? Or cross Europe unsupported, spending a week living on sweets and sleeping in hedges? A 56-times British time-trial champion and longtime Cycling Weekly columnist, Michael thought he was already fairly embedded in cycling culture - but spending two years among the ultra-distance community immersed him in a whole new world.
