Murders Are Optimists & Florescent - Piper &mnd 7"

Conceived during lockdown to help boost local artists, the St Leonards venue’s series of 7” single releases features bands from St Leonards, Hastings and East Sussex.
The second 7" release contains two exclusive tracks: Getaway from Hastings’ punk/Britpop hybrid Murderers Are Optimists, and Movin’ Differently from fast-rising indie rockers Florescent.
Known for their chaotic and unpredictable performances, MAO have earned a reputation as “one of the region’s most thrilling punk bands.” Getaway is ‘a reflection on Hastings before gentrification,” says vocalist Paul Sunshine. “We’ve always loved this town But Hastings had character long before the Airbnbs and overpriced lattes.”
Florescent are a dynamic four-piece alternative rock band known for their electrifying sound that seamlessly blends elements of classic rock with modern, alternative influences. Emerging from the vibrant scene of the South Cast, the band have quickly garnered attention for their powerful performances.
'Movin' Differently' is all about embracing who you are, and realising that in life it's okay to cut off a relationship or environment that isn't for you anymore.
The 7” has been cut by Curve Pusher, one of the country’s leading vinyl record cutting and audio mastering houses which is based in Hastings.
350 copies of the records have been pressed and are exclusively available to ticket holders.
