Mysteries of the Nile: An Ancient Egyptian Adventure at RAMM

Step into the golden sands of history and discover how we unlock the mysteries of Ancient Egypt. Join ‘Professor Heasman’, a historical archaeologist from the early 20th Century, and dive into the silent stories etched in tombs, painted on walls, and carved into hieroglyphs in this immersive workshop. Look at hieroglyphs and learn about how symbols and images were used within writing, interpret symbolic paintings, and examine how burial practices reveal beliefs about life, death, and the afterlife. Create an Ancient Egyptian-style statue out of clay, taking inspiration from images of gods, pharaohs, animals, and daily life from thousands of years ago. Please arrive five minutes before the start of this 1.5 hour workshop. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Accompanying adults are welcome to create their own papyrus painting but will need to purchase an additional ticket to do so. Due to limited space, please try to limit to just one accompanying adult per child. Information about accessibility is available on our Access page. Children must be accompanied by an adult – seating will be provided
