Phil won the Edinburgh Comedy Award Panel Prize in 2014 for his anarchic hit show Funz and Gamez, which went on to be broadcast as part of BBC Radio 4s Fresh from the Fest and BBC Threes Comedy Feeds. He also starred in and co-wrote three series of his own BBC Radio 4 sitcom Phil Ellis is Trying, alongside a cast including Johnny Vegas, Lolly Adefope, Amy Gledhill, Alexei Sayle, Sindhu Vee, Jack Dee, Lee Mack, Mark Lamarr and Sean Lock.
