Looking out from Leith is an exhibition that takes inspiration from Philip Archer’s 30 years of working and painting in the area. Leith is visually rich and stimulating with exciting and sudden juxtapositions of old and new. Archer explores these themes, his work a drama of colour and light, shadows and feints, reflections and glimpses, of people at work or in contemplation, exploring the borders of the material and the transcendent.
