Mark Viner has become one of Britains leading concert pianists, known for his distinctive artistry and passion for overlooked piano repertoire. Born in 1989, he began lessons at 11 and soon earned scholarships to the Purcell School, studying with Tessa Nicholson, and later to the Royal College of Music, where he trained with Niel Immelman and graduated with top honours. His career accelerated after winning the 2012 Alkan-Zimmerman International Piano Competition, leading to performances across Europe and the Americas, major festival appearances, and broadcasts on Deutschlandfunk and BBC Radio 3. He is acclaimed for his Piano Classics recordingsespecially his pioneering complete Alkan serieshe also composes, writes, teaches, and chairs both the Alkan and Liszt Societies.
