The List

Provenance the Musical

Provenance the Musical
A staged reading of a new musical featuring a professional cast and 25 brand new compositions. The musical debuts at the Edge and follows a family from rural Sudan to the black country, and spans a generation, following their integration into the community, with stories of love, loss, kinship, politics and legacy.

What is a staged reading you may ask? Well its what happens in London just before a play is launched, it features the actors delivering the script and singing the songs along to the music, as a kind of public test run. So we are doing the same here in Much Wenlock! Like all the musicals you know and love, but stripped back a bit.

A heartwarming, tragic, funny and emotional black country musical, you heard it here, first.

The play also features members of the wonderful Key Change choir from Bridgnorth, who are no strangers to the stage at the Edge, under the direction of West End professional Lucy Key!
