To celebrate the UNs annualInternational Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women(25thNovember) and following on from its successful opening at The Criterion London, PUNCHED returns, this time to The Exchange Twickenham. PUNCHED was developed in 2021 by Donna Air and Lorien Haynes in response to the exponential rise in sexual violence figures during the pandemic and is in support of the UN 16 day initiative to end gender-based violence encapsulating all forms of sexual violence and a global, not localised, awareness. Participants included Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Annie Lennox, Leslie Sharpe, Saffron Burrows and Ferdinand Kingsley. PUNCHED is an ever evolving project, incorporating and expanding with new survivor narratives. The evening will begin with the world premiere of a short film Rape Free Day - 100 well known and unknown men and women, reading Andrea Dworkins 1984 plea for a 24 Hour Rape Truce. Profits from PUNCHED will be donated to the charities Refuge and The WOW Foundation
