In this hands-on workshop, you'll experience the fascinating world of fermentation - an ancient natural process that's used across the globe to preserve ingredients while enhancing their flavour and nutritional value. Great for the gut, its one of the healthiest and most flavourful ways to capture the season. Rachel will lead you through how to preserve late spring ingredients from our garden, with a homemade sauerkraut, a rhubarb honey ferment and more, before you head home with your delicious creations! What to Expect Welcome Taster & Demo: Kick off with a sample and an introduction to fermentation techniques. Garden Tour: Harvest fresh ingredients from our thriving garden. Hands-On Fermentation: Make your own sauerkraut and radish kimchi inspired by the garden. Fermented Pesto & Honey Ferments: Learn to create wild garlic pesto and honey-fermented rhubarb. Q&A & Tasting: Enjoy more tastings and ask Rachel your fermentation questions. Shes the author of Tonics & Teas and The River Cottage Fermentation Handbook and teaches fermentation and seasonal nutrition courses at River Cottage, Petersham Nurseries, and the Plant Academy in London. Shes also served as Course Director for the College of Naturopathic Medicines Natural Chef diploma, Head of Food at Abel & Cole, and Commissioning Editor for Waitrose Food Illustrated. Tickets Full price tickets - 60 Concession - 40 We offer a limited amount of concession tickets for those on lower incomes (e.g. receiving Universal Credit, unemployed, or students). Please book these tickets only if this applies to you. Rachel will also be running a free to access class for local families - please consider donating at point of sale to support someone in your community to attend. Refunds/transfers: We rely on the income from our classes to fund our not-for-profit social enterprise. Please give at least 14 days' notice for cancellations or transfers.
