Brighton’s buzzing comedy scene is taking centre stage for a good cause this September as a stellar line-up of comics joins forces for Raising the Roof – a one-night comedy extravaganza in aid of YMCA Brighton. The night promises big laughs and even bigger heart, with proceeds going directly to YMCA Brighton’s work to help support and reduce homelessness across the city. The line-up is a dream for any Brighton comedy lover: - Mark Steel – stand-up legend known for his razor-sharp wit and political satire - Mark Thomas – comedian, campaigner and master of mischief - Zoe Lyons – Brighton’s own, as seen on Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News For You - Elliot Steel – rising star and sharp-tongued powerhouse - Hosted by Guy Lloyd, local radio favourite and all-round mischief-maker YMCA Brighton supports adults in the city by providing supported accommodation and services for people facing homelessness, experiencing difficulties such as mental health issues or addiction. It also offers EVOLVE work and learning coaching, including education, volunteering, and employment support. The mission of YMCA Brighton is to provide the home, community and services that empower adults (and youth) to overcome barriers and reach their goals. The money raised from this event will go directly to helping support that mission.
