Ravel Introduction and Allegro Dommett Pli Selon Pli (new RPS Commission) Ravel Mother Goose Suite Boulez Anthèmes I for solo violin Berio Folksongs Hebrides Ensemble William Conway, director Hebrides Ensemble presents a programme celebrating the 150th and 100th anniversaries of Maurice Ravel, Luciano Berio and Pierre Boulez and features a new commission by Jasper Dommett. Ravel’s lush Introduction and Allegro and Mother Goose Suite (arr. Alasdair Nicolson) bookend Dommett’s Folds on Folds which explores themes of domestic sewing and fast fashion, inspired by Boulez’s own Pli selon Pli. The second half includes Boulez’s Anthèmes I for solo violin and Berio’s iconic Folksongs.
