Whether youre planning to record a single or an EP, this workshop covers it all - from booking studios and engineers, to deciding if you need a producer. Well also guide you through the final steps of releasing your finished music. Ideal for those new to recording or looking to improve their process - come along and get inspired to share your sound. Barry Reid is a guitarist, producer, sound engineer, composer, and music tutor from Inverness-shire in the Highlands. Starting out as a participant in the Fis Rois movement, Barry went on to co-create bands Croft No. Five and Treacherous Orchestra, and has collaborated with many talented musicians and bands, including Lauren MacColl, Innes Watson, Halcyon, and Event Horizon. Alongside his progression as a musician, studio recording and music production have developed into his primary role. Over the years, Barry has gained a wealth of experience in engineering and producing records with many of Scotlands finest musicians. He has worked in some of the countrys best studios, including Glo-Worm Recording and Gorbals Sound in Glasgow, and Blackbay Studio in Lewis. In addition, with his own studio, Rose Croft Recording, he continues to expand his extensive discography of albums. Barry has also released his own solo album, Breathing Space - an album of tune compositions based on sampled nature sounds from his local rural landscape, blended with electronic textures and rhythms.
