Robert the Bruce: the struggle to be King

Robert Bruce is the hero king. Okay, he changed sides a few times, but he surely had right on his side, and a fair bit of might, born in those difficult early years with his band of brothers-at-arms by his side? That's certainly one way of looking at it. But it requires quite a bit of rose-tinted hindsight.
Historian Fiona Watson digs a little deeper, exploring Bruce's career up till he became king and the cost of his kingship, tracing a very different future for Scotland than the one he forced on the kingdom. Prepare for a very different King Robert than the one he'd like you to believe in.
Fiona has kindly offered to give this talk free of charge, so all proceeds from ticket sales and donations will go directly to Strathearn Arts.
