On 3rd June, Yorkshire Gas and Power entered the Rehearsal Rooms illegally and cut off their power. Despite the Energy Ombudsman ruling in the Rehearsal Rooms' favour, and the 'Rooms paying over £5,000 in spurious charges, YGP refused to reconnect the power for an entire month. T As anyone involved in the Bury St Edmunds music scene knows all too well, the Rehearsal Rooms is a vital piece of our tiny but thriving scene, and the only facility of its kind for miles around. Throughout this ordeal, Neil worked tirelessly to resolve these issues amicably - including purchasing a generator to keep the place open - but, having lost an entire month of trade, he now desperately needs our community's help to survive. To help safeguard the Rehearsal Rooms' future, we are holding an all-dayer at The Hunter Club on Saturday 2nd August. Tickets for the show are £10 advance, but you're welcome to donate more on the door if you want to help Neil out! Every penny of profit will go towards helping Neil keep our brilliant scene alive and - quite literally - fight the power. 1-11pm. Wristband needed for both venues - box office is at The Hunter Club. All ages welcome (under-14s with a parent/carer). There is a fully-licensed bar at The Hunter Club. No ID, no alcohol. THE HUNTER CLUB IS A SAFE SPACE We take audience safety very seriously at The Hunter Club, and strongly believe that gigs can and should be safe spaces, free from harassment, intimidation, prejudice, bullying and violence. We expect that all artists, venue staff and attendees will respect our values, and we have a zero tolerance policy towards those who do not. Anyone who endangers the enjoyment and safety of others at a Washing Machine night will be ejected and barred. It is unfortunate that in the 21st Century we still have to say this stuff, but we hope that by doing so we can help to create an atmosphere where everyone feels safe and able to enjoy themselves.
