Royal Academy of Music Lunchtime Concerts at The Goods Shed - Alex Wun

Our fifth Royal Academy of Music Lunchtime Concert for 2026 at the Good Shed - Friday 15th May at 1.00pm
Pianist Alex Wun
Introduction from Nicola Mutton, Director of Artistic Planning, Royal Academy of Music
"It is my great pleasure to bring some of the Academys exceptional student performers to this lunchtime concert series in Tetbury. Over the course of the year, more carefully curated concerts will showcase the diverse talents of our students, who represent a wide range of nationalities and cultural backgrounds".
Our fifth concert for 2026 features Hong Kong pianist Alex Wun who has performed across major venues in Europe - including the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Palais Wittgenstein in Dusseldorf as well as at the Tianjin Juilliard Piano Festival in China.
Currently completing his Masters studies with Ian Fountain at the Royal Academy of Music, In 2023 Alex won the Grand prize of the Hong Kong Next Artist International Competition and First Prize of the 5th International Liszt Ferenc Competition.
Alexs programme which is being performed at both the Wigmore Hall and Tetbury Goods Shed brings together two of the most virtuosic masterworks in the piano literature. Opening with Chopins scintillating first collection of twelve etudes, this lunchtime concert culminates in Liszts monumental Sonata in B minor: a testament to faith, light and darkness.
Programme
Chopin Etudes Op.10
Liszt Sonata in B minor S178
I am thrilled to share the talent and artistry of the Royal Academys students with Tetbury, and hope you will join us for the series.
Other Concerts include 20th March: Sofia Patterson Gutierrez and Milda Daunoraite - 24th April: Tomos Boyles - 15th May: Alex Wun - 19th June: Thomas Donkin (bassoon) and Xiaowen Shang (piano) - 3rd July: Scintilla Quartet
