Introducing Royal Academy of Music Lunchtime Concerts at the Good Shed - Friday 19th September 2025 at 1.00pm Pianist Milda Daunoraite Introduction from Nicola Mutton, Director of Artistic Planning, Royal Academy of Music "It is my great pleasure to bring some of the Academys exceptional student performers to this new lunchtime concert series in Tetbury. Over the course of the year, eight carefully curated concerts will showcase the diverse talents of our students, who represent a wide range of nationalities and cultural backgrounds. Our first concert features an all-French programme by the virtuosic young pianist Milda Daunoraite, whose remarkable achievements include international competition prizes in Ukraine, Stockholm, and Germany. Milda has performed at prestigious venues such as Amsterdams Concertgebouw, Musikhuset Aarhus, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and the UN Headquarters in Geneva. Her programme offers a rich banquet of musical styles, celebrating four French masters. In October, we look forward to an inspiring performance by young clarinettist Raj Baumik accompanied on the piano by Qden Blaauw . And November the winners of the Academys Duo Prize 2024, Takanori Okamoto and Lily Petrova bring you sonatas by Mozart and Beethoven for violin and piano. I am thrilled to share the talent and artistry of the Royal Academys students with Tetbury, and hope you will join us for the series. Programme Poulenc: Improvisations, FP63 Ravel: Valses Nobles et Sentimentales Boulez: Douze Notations Messiaen: Regard de l'Esprit de joie from Vingt Regards sur l'Enfant-Jsus Milda Daunoraite began playing the piano at six, under the guidance of Irena Meldaikien. At eight years old, she became a scholar of the SOS Talents Foundation - Michel Sogny, marking the start of her extensive European performances. She later studied with Liudmila Katien and Justas Dvarionas before continuing her education at the Purcell School of Music in London. A recent winner of the Royal Academy of Musics 2023 Sterndale Bennett Piano Prize, Milda is a prize winner of numerous international competitions including first prize in the international V. Krainev Piano Competition in Kharkov, Ukraine; the jury prize in the PIANALE International Academy & Competition; Grand Prix in the 10th and 15th international piano competitions Music Without Limits in Lithuania which lead her to perform in Frankfurt, Germany and Aarhus, Denmark; 1st prize in the 4th international Piano Competition in Stockholm; Milda is also a four-times Prize winner in the national and international Balys Dvarionas competitions. Milda is currently studying with Tessa Nicholson at the Royal Academy of Music, where she holds a full tuition scholarship as a recipient of the prestigious ABRSM Scholarship. Her musical journey has been generously supported by several esteemed organizations, including The Keyboard Charitable Trust, the SOS Talents Foundation Michel Sogny, and the Mstislav Rostropovich Charity and Support Foundation.
