Pianist Tomos Boyles

Introduction from Nicola Mutton, Director of Artistic Planning, Royal Academy of Music

"It is my great pleasure to bring some of the Academys exceptional student performers to this lunchtime concert series in Tetbury. Over the course of the year, four more carefully curated concerts will showcase the diverse talents of our students, who represent a wide range of nationalities and cultural backgrounds".

Our fourth concert for 2026 features Rising Welsh musician Tomos Boyles who is rapidly carving out a career as a young and exciting concert pianist, racking up performances at prestigious venues from the Wigmore Hall to the Wales Millennium Centre. Tomos has also already won several awards including the first prize at the 2025 Dudley International Piano Competition, and the prestigious Blue Ribband at the National Eisteddfod. Expect to see the kind of romantic flair and passion that only comes from intense involvement (Carol Nixon, LMC) from this promising young pianist.

Programme:
Igor Stravinsky Three Movements from Petrushka
Charles Ives Three-Page Sonata
Franz Schubert Sonata No. 21 in Bb Major, D.960
