After having performed Smiths previously unheard Lalla Rookh Overture in our 23/24 season, we are uncovering another of her overtures which has not been published or recorded before. We then welcome clarinettist Sarah Williamson to perform Smiths Andante for Clarinet and Orchestra and Mozarts beautiful Clarinet Concerto. Renowned as a virtuoso clarinettist whose talent has been recognised by concert-goers and critics alike. BBC Music Magazine wrote of Sarah: A tenacious player like Williamson doesnt need gimmicks her sonorous timbre and natural musicality speak for themselves. The Independent hailed her as a superb player; and The Telegraph praised Sarahs blend of languor and exuberance. We close our 24/25 season with Brahms beautiful Symphony No. 2 in D Major.
