Three top quality bands playing live in central Sheffield. The show is at Sheffield's legendary live venue the Hallamshire Hotel (182 West Street. S1 4ET). This historic part of Sheffield's music scene re-opened last year following a complete refurb with a new upstairs live room (new stage, new soundsystem, an additional upstairs bar and additional upstairs WCs) plus extensive outdoor seating out the back. SILVER BIPLANES are a melodic indie band based in Bedfordshire, England. The band features wife-and-husband team Vanessa Vass and Tim Vass alongside drummer Rob Scott. Silver Biplanes are lifelong music fans drawing on a wide range of influences. Expect a heady mix of choruses, hooks and catchy tunes in which youll hear traces of psychedelia, post-punk, krautrock and more. Tim was bassist and lyricist in seminal 80s indie band Razorcuts, co-writing all of their songs. Razorcuts releases included two top five indie chart albums recorded for the Creation label. Tim also played in Red Chair Fadeaway, Dandelion Wine and Sarah Records the Forever People. Vanessa was the singer in 90s indie band The Melons, best remembered for their two live sessions on Mark Radcliffes Radio 1 show and 6 singles released on the international underground indiepop scene. Silver Biplanes have released a handful of singles and two albums. 2023's A Moment In The Sun and 2024's Travelling By Candlelight on the cult UK indie label Where It's At Is Where You Are.
