Sinfonia of London: Holst's the Planets - More Info
We welcome back conductor John Wilson and his orchestra, the Sinfonia of London for this cosmic performance.
We’d hate to say that Gustav Holst was a one hit wonder, but it’s true that there’s one piece he’s known for above all else: The Planets. One of the biggest classical hits of the 20th century, it’s been recorded more than 80 times. Plus there’s Stargazer - a concerto for trombone and orchestra, and Strauss’ Music of the Spheres.
