Skiffieworlds

Skiffieworlds
The World Championship of the St Ayles class of coastal rowing boat, with a shoreside festival. Look forward to a multi-day regatta of racing between community-built, brightly coloured wooden rowing boats, alongside a week-long programme of activities, entertainment, and hospitality. Big screens, live drone footage and commentary will help spectators keep pace with the action. A wellbeing hub and local artisan traders will be highlights of the shoreside festival, and there will be opportunities to see the brightly coloured wooden boats up close on the beach. The St Ayles coastal rowing boat was invented in Scotland 15 years ago and it's now one of the fastest growing water sports in the world, with more than 350 St Ayles skiff boats registered globally. 77 of them will compete, making this the largest gathering in the sport’s history, with teams traveling from the USA, Australia, Netherlands, Italy, Canada and South Africa, and from across the UK and Ireland, to take part.
