Hello Smiler Stars ! My name is Damien Smiler & I started Smiler Nights at the beginning of this decade. I have always strived to make a safe space for outsiders, freaks & the lonely to feel free, express yourself & make friend's no matter how out of place you may think you are,. After a long break away from doing events I have decided to make a return. With a clear and strong vison to build Smiler Nights around the evolution of my new musical that is starting as one person 30min show called "Frankly Famous" that I am going to develop into a full length stage production, adding new character's & element's to each show performed at Smiler every 2 months . I am beyond excited to kick off this new chapter & see familiar & new faces come to Smiler, to see the many faces of Frankly Famous's evolution & growth. As well as the unbelievable talent playing & supporting each night. Frankly Famous The Musical: The Alternate Turning The year is 1965. After being chemically castrated by force for being gay, Alan Turing survives a British assassination attempt via a cyanide-laced apple. He's secretly rescued by the FBI and hired by the American government, handed a Cold War budget to develop Artificial Intelligence. And he succeeds. But what he creates is immediately used against the people, the U.S. begins quietly embedding AI-generated deepfakes into American media to manipulate the public without them ever knowing. Horrified, Turing builds Frankly Famous in secret: a post-human popstar with all of media's consciousness downloaded into their system. A spirit. A glitch. A living deepfake. From a hidden television studio bunker, Turing and Frankly hatch a radical plan, to intercept global TV signals and expose the truth about deepfakes. But saying it isnt enough. To prove it, they must do what deepfakes arent designed to do: stand out. Theyll flood the airwaves with queerness. Not to blend in, but to blow people's minds. Where the government once launched a Lavender Scare to erase queer people from media, this will be its chaotic, fabulous reversal, a Lavender Awakening. As what's truly at stake is the future of reality itself. AI-driven media, left unchallenged, in a techno fascist world, will erase queerness, minorities, and all outsiders from visibility, and revolutions cant happen in echo chambers.
