Guillermo Ramasasais an award-winning clarinettist who is originally from Las Vegas, but who has played all around the world and is now based in London. He will be playingMatthew Arnolds Concerto No.2 for Clarinet and Orchestra for us in Taunton. Arnold had a lifelong love of jazz, and he wrote this concerto in 1974 specially for Benny Goodman, who loved it as we are sure you will, too. William Waltons Symphony No 1 has been described as sensuous and searing. It begins with raw intense emotional energy, passes through a bitingly bitter phase, a period of melancholic pain and reaches a triumphant upbeat finale that shouts with joy! Do not miss the opportunity to experience the intensity of this symphonic masterpiece.
